Challenges of motherhood

I can't believe that WEEKS have passed since my last post. I have had the most trying couple of weeks since becoming a mother 3 years ago.
Tanner is cutting teeth and everyone here knows it. Until last night Tanner was up about all night long for a week on top of Carter waking up his typical 2 to 3 times a night. He was taking much less formula than usual and just irritable most of the day and night. Tanner typically takes 6 ounce bottles but takes about an hour to eat it all because he needs little breaks. It was taking an hour and a half to two hours just to get 4 ounces into him.
Carter, who has had bowel troubles since he was 6 months, has decided to take hours of my day away with pooping fiascoes. He holds it and holds it until he is in pain. After seeing a specialist in November he was on the right track but now seems to be regressing. He was doing wonderful pooping on the potty but will now do anything to stay off of the potty or and refuses to even poop in his diaper. He stands up and pees without any trouble at all. I spend numerous hours in the bathroom taking punches, kicks, head butts, and hair pulling trying to get him to go. During these wonderful pooping experiences Carter yells "Go Way! Weave me awone"! Today, during an hour long bathroom episode, he ran around with his diaper off refusing to sit on the potty (he runs in circles trying to hold it in) and pooped down his leg and then ran into my arms. Of course I ended up poop covered. Moments later Tanner spit up on me to add another wonderful aroma to my outfit. Yes, I am now showered and smelling good. Needless to say I'm at my wits end and just praying for things to let up. My brain is so flustered that I can't concentrate on anything. Let me give you an example. Here are three facts.
1. Tanner's formula is Ready to Feed Neosure that is kept in the refrigerator
2. We also add half a scoop of the powdered Neosure to his RTF formula
3. Justin and I make Wawa coffee at home and add wawa french vanilla creamer

Now, here's a few occurrences proving that my brain is failing me. Wednesday night I filled Tanner's bottle with french vanilla creamer. Last night I added ready to feed Neosure to my cup of delicious wawa coffee. And today I filled the coffee filter with powdered neosure. There ya have it! I'm nuts!

Now on to the good stuff. Of course the bad come with the good. I have loads of videos and pictures to share. Carter's 3rd birthday party was January 9th so I have some fun pictures of that. Tanner has been giggling a lot more lately when I tickle him. He did sleep well last night and been taking his full feeds today so I'm very thinkful! I forgot Carter's juice cup when we went to Bounce U yesterday and he was quite thirsty after all of that bouncing so I got a bottle of lemonade from the vending machine. After his first big gulp he said "yummy yummy! That's dewicious!" It brought a very big smile to my face. So, on to pictures!!!! Tyler's always a good boy and usually has some one liner that I like to brag about but has been quiet lately. He's probably trying to just get some quiet time too.

Here's Tanner getting his pigs.

He's doing so well with sitting up.
Here's Tanner in his bumbo. After about 5 minutes of sitting in this his neck would get tired and he wouldn't be able to play with his toys. So, I got some velcro so that we can attach this little pillow. It works perfectly!!!
Big brother Carter

This picture cracks me up. Carter and I chase eachother around the house. Sometimes when I get a little ahead of him, I crouch down behind a wall and jump out at him. It may sound cruel to scare the crap out of a toddler but it's hilarious. He sometimes jumps about a foot off the ground with a priceless suprised look on his face. He seems to enjoy it as well.

Carter's party was fun. We had a Lightening McQueen Pinata that kids had fun swinging at.

Although my niece Sydney wanted zero part of hitting the pinata, she sure was a great cheerleader.
I had little boxes for the kids to decorate which they then put all of their pinata goodies in. Sydney is seriously smart. She'll be 3 in March but she is way ahead of the game. When all of the kids were done trying to bust the pinata open we eventually had to intervene to get it open. All of the kids were waiting for us to get it open but Sydney was prepared. She stood right under the pinata with her little decorated box right under it. Needless to say, Sydney's box was by far the most full:) She cracks me up.
Mommy and the birthday boy.
Our friends Brian and Mel came ot Carter's party with their little girl Leah. Leah and Tanner enjoyed eachother's company.
I love this video. It really shows how responsive and active Tanner is. Tyler helped me give Tanner different toys.

For about a month Tanner has been waving his right arm all over the place. sometimes it actually looks like he's waving.

Sounds like you have been quite busy! You need a day off. I hope Tanner is back to his usual hungry self. Riley is also cutting teeth, one popped through so far. We have a vibrating teether that she loves and it helps so much with teething. Hope things get better with Carter and potty training. Tanner is doing so well, love the videos.
