It's been awhile!!!

Wow! So, about 2 weeks have passed since I last blogged. SOOOOOO much has happened. I was so busy getting ready for TEE IT UP FOR TANNER and Tanner's baptism that I missed a few days and then getting things back to normal after all of that added a few days too.
TEE IT UP FOR TANNER was a huge success. I would like to thank all of our friends and family for your support. We had about 135 people there. That is HUGE for our first year. After paying for the golf and after party we were able to make a sizable donation to the support group. We hope that everybody knows how important they are to our family and we can't wait to see you all there next year. I would also like to ask anyone that has pictures from the beef and beer to please email them to me. I got some great pictures of the golfers but my battery died as I was about to take my first picture at the party. I was super bummed. I will post the pictures of the golfers this week but I have not even uploaded them to the computer yet. I know, I know......I'm slacking.
In other news, Tanner got Baptized last Sunday. It was a beautiful day. Most of you know I'm not the most religious person. I believed in God and that was that. After Carter was born I went through the RCIA program to receive the rest of my Sacraments since I was baptized Catholic. After that I attended Mass regularly with Carter for a few months (spending most of the Mass in the speaker room of course:)). I just wanted Carter to grow up with some faith.....with a higher power to trust and believe in. After a couple of months I just kind of stopped going. Since we had Tanner I've tried so hard to be faithful and believe that my prayers were being heard. But deep in the back of my mind I was really mad at God. How could He let this happen to our baby Tanner??? Since Tanner's Christening day I've realized that God is very much looking over my baby and the rest of my family. After the traditional Christening ceremony, the Deacon asked to perform a healing prayer. Justin and I quickly agreed. We both shed a few tears during the prayer as we watched our special baby boy smile into the eyes of the smitten Deacon. (As you know from previous posts Tanner was not eating all that well. His bottle feeds were very inconsistent and we were very much starting to worry.) Monday morning Tanner woke up and couldn't get enough to eat. He ending up stopping a 7 ounces of formula. We were astonished at his sudden appetite and hoped it wouldn't be a one time thing. Throughout that day it was 6 ounces, 7 ounces, 6 ounces!!!! Then Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday were the same!!! I truly feel God was showing me HE IS very much there for us and I will never doubt his reasoning or power again. Justin and I are in agreement that from now on we are going to remain faithful and believe firmly in the power of prayer. I believe that that prayer healed Tanner's hurting appetite. Some of you are probably reading this thinking...."Is this the right blog? This does not sound like the Jessica I know." Yep! It's still me....just with a slightly different outlook.
In addition to all the recent excitement Tanner is really becoming interested in his toys and thriving well during therapy. He's reaching out for things and goes crazy with his hands and feet under his play gym. He's been trying to roll from his back to his side but can't quite stick it. He'll get there though. He's developed a deep love for the mobile in his crib. He's just in awe over it. He does the cutest little gasps as he watches it. I'll have to try to get it on video. Tanner has also been trying some new foods. I think he's a veggies kinda guy. He seems to enjoy carrots, peas, avocado, and sweet potatoes. Carter has always been a fruits guy so of course I tried fruits first with Tanner which is why I thought he didn't like real food to start. I hope everyone has a great week! I'll be back with pics tomorrow of the golfers and Tanner's Christening:)

So glad that you are back in the blogging world! And so excited to read about Tee it Up and about the Christening.

I definitely believe in the power of prayer and like you have seen God move mountains and work miracles in Norrah's life. It is undeniable. I am so excited that Tanner is eating well and that God gave you a tangible sign of his very present love and nearness. YIPPPEEEE. Miss you, friend. (I have been a blog slacker myself lately).

Jessica, I am really proud of you. Sometimes I question everything myself but have to look at my life and be thankful for every minute. And while Mikaela doesnt challange me in the same ways Tanner Challanges you, sometimes it is hard..and stressful and I just want to close my eyes so it all goes away. But then I read something like this and I look at my child and realize life shouldnt be any different. Glad things went well last weekend, very sad I wasnt there. Hope to see you soon.
Love Jen
